The Innovative Ohio Network (ION) is a unique partnership that was created to collaborate on the development of the OCED. With EBO Group in the lead, ION is actively developing the OCED and will be ready to enter the marketplace in 2010.

  • David C. Heidenreich, Chairman of the Board and Chief Technical Officer for EBO Group, Inc. -Dave is the COO and Technical Director for the project.  He has 40 years of experience in the application and design of power transmission components and systems for a wide variety of industrial and vehicular applications. He founded Power Transmission Technology in 1978 (name changed to PT Tech in 2002 and to EBO Group in 2006). The company has focused on developing customized drive components and systems for electric motor and diesel engine driven applications. He has more than 20 patents. 
 
Innovative Ohio Network (ION) Collaborators
  • Anthony Palumbo, Chief of Operations, Electric Vehicle Institute, Bowling Green State University - Tony holds title of Associate Professor Emeritus of Energy, Power, Instrumentation, and Control in the Department of Technology Systems after retiring from teaching after 30+ years. He has led the technical group in the EVI from its inception in 1994. Tony will oversee BGSU’s role and provide consulting on future innovations.
  • Jeffrey Major, Electric Vehicle Institute, Bowling Green State University - Chief Engineer of the EVI for the past 11 years. He has extensive experience in electric vehicles, electromechanical energy conversion, and power electronics. Jeff will be responsible for converting the EVI van to test the OCED module and system and will assist with OCED design optimization.
  • Robert Gruenwald, President and Chief Engineer, Electric Motorsports, LLC After 17 years of industrial experience with motors and drives, he founded Electric Motorsports to fill a void for reasonably priced traction control products for vehicles and has supplied over 200 controllers for use in electric buses, dock side tractors, trams, and subway cars. Refinement of the EMS electric vehicle inverter drive system for use with our OCED module.
  • David M. Brown, President, Industrial Control Design and Maintenance  - Dave started ICDM in 1999. He is also a factory-certified repair technician for a variety of motor and control manufacturers. Dave will be responsible for developing manufacturing capability and tooling for the special motor stator windings and the modified rotor assemblies needed for the oil-cooled motors.
  • Jeffrey P. Pappas, Executive Vice President of Transportation Equipment Sales Corp. (TESCO) - Jeff’s focus is primarily on new business development, marketing, and information technology. He will be responsible for all TESCO tasks in this project, including providing test vehicles for conversion.
